センセーショナルな伝説のタイのバンドFUTONのメンバーだった自身が帰国後、初制作したソロアルバム「レモンは灰色」より第一弾シングル「High」を発表。

「High」は、FUTONのアルバム「Love Bites」（タイで発表。インディーズ）の収録曲で、のちに「GIve Me More!」（2005, AvexTrax, 日本国内版)のアルバム曲としても発表された。タイ語翻訳歌詞だったが、今回はオリジナルとして作られた未発表の英詞バージョンでの初のセルフカヴァー。

「High」は日本国内でも野宮真貴により、菊地成孔とのデュエット曲として日本語カヴァーされた（野宮真貴ソロアルバム「PARTY PEOPLE」収録）

発売当時、エキセントリックなバンドだったFUTONのイメージとは異なる一面が、バンコクの大学生に支持された曲。ロマンティックなバラードだが、歌詞はアンダーグラウンドに生きる者との中毒的な恋からの脱却を匂わせる。

アレンジは今回の共同プロデュースを行った小山和朗による。演奏は本アルバム録音のためだけに集まったバンドQuiltsによる。普段は実験的な音楽を追求しているバンドメンバーによるエクスペリメンタルな音を内包したまま今の時代にふさわしいポップな仕上がり。

First single cut from Momoko Motion’s solo album that she made first in Japan after she moved back from Thailand where she was an original member of sensational Thai mixed-national band FUTON.

‘‘High’’ was an album track which was included in FUTON’s album ‘‘Love Bites’’ which made in Thailand as a self produced Indies album and later released in the Japan only special album ‘‘Give Me More!’’ released by avex trax in 2005. Both tracks were released as Thai lyric version, but she sing it the unreleased original English lyrics version as a self-cover of the song.

Also, ‘‘High’’ is covered by Japanese singer Maki Nomiya as a duet song with Japanese musician Naruyoshi Kikuchi in Japanese lyrics and included in her solo album ‘‘PARTY PEOPLE’’.

When this song is first released in Thailand, it was popular among college students in Bangkok because it shows a different side of the eccentric and freaky band FUTON. The song has slow and romantic ballad feeling but the lyrics hint a breaking away from an addictive love between people in underground society.

Arrangement of this single is made by Momoko Motion and Kazuo Koyama who co-produce the album together. Music played by the band Quilts；Guitar: Kazuo Koyama, Bass:Teruyuki Oshima, Drum: Tatsuya Tsuyuki which gathered only for the recording of this album. These members are usually working on experimental type of music, so that this song capsuled avant-garde sound yet still pop it meets modern flavor.
